AEW Championship Match With Retirement Implications Confirmed

AEW Championship Match With Retirement Implications Confirmed AEW

Sting will be up for an AEW Championship match in two weeks on Dynamite as he partners with Darby Allin for a big title shot.

Announced on tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite (January 24) a big upcoming title shot of the pair of Sting and Darby Allin.

Ahead of their apparent match against the Young Bucks at AEW Revolution on pay-per-view in March, it seems that a new target has emerged for Sting and Darby Allin.

Taking to the ring tonight to give a promo and ultimately issue a challenge, Darby Allin noted that since the rankings were back and their tag team was undefeated in 2024 they deserved an AEW Tag Team title shot.

After Sting agreed to chase gold with his protege Allin, there was a response from the current champions Ricky Starks and Big Bill.

Accepting Sting and Allin’s challenge for two weeks’ time on AEW Dynamite (February 7), Big Bill and Ricky Starks seemed remarkably unafraid of the Icon Sting and Allin.

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, Sting and Darby’s expected AEW Revolution opponents the Young Bucks continued their reign of terror backstage at AEW as the pair of EVPs have begun to appear on-screen as tyrannical bosses over the past two weeks.
