AEW Star Reveals Plans For Early Retirement

AEW Star Reveals Plans For Early Retirement AEW

AEW star Ethan Page has opened up about his plans for retirement in a conversation about older wrestlers still performing.

With Sting’s retirement match taking place at AEW Revolution in 2024 and Ric Flair having joined AEW on a multi-year deal, Page discussed his future as a ‘mature’ wrestler.

During his recent appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the 34-year-old said:

“I don’t know if I want to be physically active in wrestling for that long. So I’m almost putting– I’m shortening my own career for sure.

“My son is young. He’s only two years old. My daughter’s turning six in February. So my kids are so young. I’m 34, I want to be able to enjoy the entire experience of being a parent.

“I feel it in my body every year, more and more and more… This obviously won’t last forever. Age is going to kick my ass eventually.

“I don’t want to be the guy who’s 55 or 60 years old who’s like ‘Oh, got to go to a show this weekend.’ I think I’d rather do whatever I want and if that’s wrestling, amazing.”

Page’s career started in 2006 and has seen him perform across the independent scene, as well as Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling.

He joined AEW in early 2021, making his debut at Revolution in March of that year.

Page recently issued a challenge to Kenny Omega that will see the pair face off at the December 9 episode of AEW Collision, which was taped earlier this week.
