Former WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt made his highly anticipated return to WWE at the climax of this weekend’s Extreme Rules event as the ‘White Rabbit’ mystery finally came to a close.
Wyatt was released on July 31, 2021, with his release being considered one of the most shocking of the many that took place back in 2021, due to his position on the roster, being one of the company’s highest merchandise sellers.
As it turns out, Wyatt never wrestled anywhere outside of WWE following his release, but that wasn’t due to a lack of interest from other companies.
Dave Meltzer wrote an article for Sports Illustrated on Wyatt’s incredible return at Extreme Rules. In it, he discussed Wyatt’s release, and confirmed that Wyatt had received feelers from several companies, including AEW, IMPACT and AAA in Mexico.
Wyatt never agreed an agreement with any other promotion, leading to his return this past weekend.
