AEW’s Jon Moxley is set to compete in a major crossover match at the upcoming New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) Windy City Riot event.
With Moxley frequently competing for NJPW while with AEW, the popular star most recently wrestled for the Japanese promotion during Saturday’s (January 13) Battle in the Valley show in San Jose, California.
Moxley faced off against Shingo Takagi in a no disqualifications bout at this weekend’s event, ultimately defeating the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.
After defeating Takagi, Moxley called out the current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, challenging Tetsuya Naito to a match at Windy City Riot in Chicago on April 12.
NJPW has now officially announced this match, sharing a graphic to Twitter with the caption:

It’s currently unclear whether or not this match will be for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
Naito is slated to defend his gold ahead of April, with the recently crowned champion preparing to face SANADA at The New Beginning in Sapporo on February 24.
Tetsuya Naito won the IWGP World Heavyweight Title in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 18, pinning SANADA to become champion.
The champion recently teased throwing away his gold, which you can read more about right here.
Another ex-WWE star appears to be set to make his NJPW debut at Windy City Riot, which you can read more about right here.
