Former ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness officially signed with AEW back at ROH Supercard of Honor in April.
Since arriving in the company, McGuinness has provided commentary for both ROH and AEW Collision, with many wondering if he will eventually return to the ring.
Nigel has teased potentially returning to the ring in recent months, specifically for a match at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium, and while that may not happen, we could see the former ROH World Champion in the ring again soon.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Nigel McMcGuinness has been taking measures to try to return to the ring.
Fightful notes that they have not been told definitively that he has been cleared for an in-ring return, but that he has been taking measures that indicated he was considering a return.
McGuinness has not wrestled a match in almost 12 years, last competing in December 2011, with his last match on television taking place back in September 2010 against Stevie Richards on TNA Xplosion.
As far as All In, Fightful confirmed that he had been brought up in recent months as a potential competitor for the card at All In, but couldn’t confirm if there are plans for him to wrestle, or if it’s been pitched by AEW internally.
Nigel has previously stated that he never officially retired from the ring.
