On tonight’s AEW Dynamite, an outside of the ring distraction took the referee’s eyes off the match and cost a former champion the win.
Tonight on AEW Dynamite (February 28), Willow Nightingale and Stokely Hathaway accompanied Kris Statlander to the ring for a match against Skye Blue.
With Skye Blue arriving with the TBS Champion Julia Hart along with her, the match was certainly poised for some kind of interference.
However, it would actually be Stokely Hathaway making the inadvertent distraction and arguing with Nightingale, allowing the referee to be fixated on the outside of the ring issues while back inside the ring, Hart struck.
Julia Hart hitting Statlander with her TBS Championship belt behind the referee’s back which allowed Skye Blue to hit her finisher and pick up the pinfall victory.
There seemed to be an issue between Hathaway and Nightingale afterwards, and of course Statlander may also take issue with either or both of them for costing her the match,
Elsewhere on tonight’s AEW Dynamite, there was a new match confirmed for AEW Revolution.
There will be an eight-man All-Star Scramble with six participants already announced: Chris Jericho, Powerhouse Hobbs, Lance Archer, Wardlow, Brian Cake and HOOK already known.
The final two spots will be determined via qualifying matches on AEW Rampage and Collision.
The Rampage qualifier will be Matt Sydal vs CMLL’s Magnus, and the Collision qualifier will be Penta El Zero Miedo vs Bryan Keith vs Dante Martin.
