Be sure to mark your calendars because the next two weeks of AEW Rampage will be airing at a different time than usual.
This coming Friday May 8, 2022 will see a start time of 7pm EST (4pm PST/12am BST) with the subsequent Friday the 13th airing at 6pm EST (3pm PST/11pm BST.)
Getting moved from their regular Friday time slot seems to be a monthly pattern as of late with interruptions coming to the schedule in February due to the NBA All Stars Weekend, March for the NCAA Men’s basketball tournament, and earlier in April due to scheduling conflict with an NBA playoff game.
It may actually fare All Elite Wrestling better to be viewed as closer to the sports side versus scripted entertainment as new reports about post-merger cost-cutting measures within their network partner begins to come to light.
As previously reported this week, scripted series were being scrapped from TBS and TNT in light of the merger between WarnerMedia and Discovery to form Warner Bros. Discovery as a cost-saving measure amid exec’s pledge to eliminate billions of dollars in debt.
While there has been some concern within the fanbase that the company might not want wrestling content on its networks post-merger, the likes of Matt Hardy and Tony Schiavone have stated that they believe AEW has a good relationship with WarnerMedia.
