Independent Star Credits Speedball Mike Bailey For AEW Match Success AEW

British independent wrestler Michael Oku has revealed which AEW star helped him out during his recent appearances for the company.

Michael Oku recently had some major moments take place in an AEW ring, notably teaming with Speedball Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight against Ricochet, Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona at Forbidden Door on August 24.

He went onto face Kazuchika Okada in an AEW Unified Championship Eliminator match on the September 13 edition of Collision.

Speaking with The FiveMarks, Michael Oku revealed that Speedball Mike Bailey helped him out with both of these matches.

Discussing Bailey’s impact on his career as a whole, Oku said:

“Speedball Mike Bailey. That’s like the one constant I go to for feedback.

“You kind of try and go to everyone for feedback, especially if you’re at a show, you want to go to the people who are there, then you see out of the people who are there, who it makes the most sense to go to feedback for.

“But someone who whether they’re there or not, I ask for feedback from is Speedball Mike Bailey. I feel very fortunate, I’ve been going to him for feedback for at least six, seven years now.

“I credit him to me understanding how to have really good matches, I’d go that far and say that.

“What’s been very useful is that just by happenstance, he’s been there, either literally in the ring or backstage for a lot of my pivotal matches so that I can bounce ideas off him before I have my matches.”

Revealing the impact Mike Bailey had on his recent AEW appearances, Oku continued:

“Of course we talk about Forbidden Door at The O2, he was my tag partner. I really credit that match going as well as it did in terms of putting a spotlight on me being because Speedball Mike Bailey knows me, knows what I can do, and tried to make sure that happened.

“When I found out I was wrestling (Kazuchika) Okada, I literally ran straight to him, I didn’t go to anyone else. I went straight to him being like “Hey, help me.” That’s my guy right there, Speedball.”
