AEW Star Confirms He Isn’t Retiring AEW

An absent AEW star has confirmed that he’s not retiring from in-ring competition any time soon.

The AEW future of wrestling veteran Matt Hardy has been a topic of conversation this week, as the 49-year-old recently confirming that his contract with the company was set to expire in March.

With little over two weeks left in the month, there has been no further update on whether the 13-time tag champion will be re-signing with the company or not.

What is for sure however, is that Hardy has no plans to retire from wrestling altogether.

When a Twitter user quizzed Hardy on ‘rumors’ of his impending retirement, the veteran responded with:

No, I am not retiring from active wrestling anytime soon.

Hardy joined AEW in April 2020, with his first bout seeing him team with Kenny Omega to take on Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho on the May 6, 2020 episode of Dynamite.

Despite being a consistent presence on AEW TV since then, recently this has not been the case with his last match coming on the January 3 edition of AEW Rampage.

WrestleTalk will provide further update on Hardy’s contract situation as/when further details become available.
