A current AEW star’s contract is set to expire this month, and will become a free agent unless a new deal is reached.
Matt Hardy joined AEW back in March 2020 after he left WWE due to his contract expiring.
Matt has since joined up with brother Jeff in AEW, but as it currently stands, the Hardys reunion may not last too much longer.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), the former WWE Tag Team Champion’s contract with AEW is set to expire in March.
In regards to Jeff Hardy, his AEW deal was set to match up with Matt’s deal in terms of length, but injuries and inactivity time have ended up being added to the deal, so that’s no longer the case.
Fightful had heard that Matt and AEW were in contact about the deal recently, but they hadn’t heard whether or not it’s expected to be extended.
Matt has only competed in one match so far in 2024, though he regularly wrestled throughout 2023.
Another AEW star recently departed the company, which you can see here.
