After being namedropped by John Cena on tonight’s WWE SmackDown, an AEW star has responded on social media.
With John Cena having randomly referenced him on tonight’s airing of WWE SmackDown (November 3) in his feud against Solo Sikoa, now Taz has responded.
Taz himself took to Twitter to respond to the reference, writing simply:
“U can’t see me.”
In a segment in front of the live crowd – taped last week – John Cena and Solo Sikoa went back and forth on the mic ahead of their big match in Riyadh.
With John Cena using a raspy voice (after having taken a ‘Samoan Spike the week prior’ from Sikoa, which in real time was earlier in the night) he continued to sell the ‘injury’ from Solo.
However seemingly unimpressed by Solo Sikoa’s skills on the microphone, Cena told him that he could ‘cook him’ within 90 seconds.
Cena would then go on to tell Solo that everyone knows he only has a job in WWE ‘because of your cousin’, and went on to call Solo Sikoa a ‘bargain basement Taz ripoff’.
There was no clear connection for why Cena brought up the AEW name in lieu of another example.
Taz for his part continues to be a staple of the AEW commentary team, primarily featuring on AEW Dynamite.
