An AEW star is officially gone from the company and is making his way back to WWE after a departure a number of years ago.

There have been a number of expected signings and returns to WWE in recent weeks, with Baron Corbin one of those this past Friday on SmackDown, and another one now confirmed as well.

During tonight’s July 13 episode of Monday Night Raw, a video aired hyping up the return of Big Cass.

Big Cass was with WWE from 2011 to 2018, most notably in a tag team with Enzo Amore.

He joined AEW in 2022 under the name W Morrissey and then Big Bill, and became AEW World Tag Team Champion with Ricky Saints (Ricky Starks) from October 2023 to February 2024, as well as being a member of Chris Jericho’s Learning Tree faction.

The video that aired tonight ended by showing the date 8/3, which would be August 3, likely meaning he’ll be back on the WWE Raw after SummerSlam.

While Cass has been widely expected to return alongside previous NXT and WWE tag team partner Enzo Amore, the video that aired today only focused on Cass and didn’t confirm a return for Amore.

It’s possible there are more videos to come before we get to August 3 that’ll end up confirming Amore as well, but we’ll keep you posted with any updates on that.

As of now, we know Cass is back but Amore is unconfirmed.

Big Cass & Enzo Amore To Make Amends In WWE

Big Cass and Enzo Amore both had somewhat controversial departures from WWE a few years ago.

In 2018, Cass had issues in his personal life with addiction and an unceremonious break-up with former WWE star Carmella, but it’s since been documented that he has recovered from all of that and received a lot of positive feedback in AEW.

Meanwhile, Amore had a history of riling up the WWE locker room with his abrasive personality, and was fired in 2018 after sexual assault allegations were made against him and he didn’t inform WWE that there was an investigation happening – though the investigation ended up being dropped a few months later and it came out that the allegations were false.

This return, assuming Amore is back as well, presents both men with a chance to right the wrongs of their previous tenures and do so while giving the WWE tag team division a shot in the arm at the same time.
