WWE Championship Match Canceled Due To Injury

A planned upcoming WWE championship match has had to be canceled due to an injury suffered by the challenger.

Last week on WWE NXT, Layla Diggs won a four-way match against Izzi Dame, Thea Hail and Lizzy Rain to become #1 contender for Zaria’s Women’s North American Championship.

That title match between Zaria and Diggs was set to take place tomorrow on NXT.

However, NXT General Manager Robert Stone has now announced that Diggs suffered an injury at this past weekend’s NXT live event in Sebring, Florida, and won’t be able to challenge Zaria.

He did note that Zaria will still defend the title and he is working on a replacement for Diggs.

Stone said:

“NXT General Manager Robert Stone here to deliver the unfortunate news that this past Saturday in Sebring, Florida at an NXT live event, Layla Diggs got injured.

“Therefore, her championship opportunity against Zaria for the North American Title isn’t able to happen this Tuesday.

“However, I promised the NXT universe a North American Championship match, and a North American Championship match they will get.

“I am currently working on a replacement as we speak. I will see you live tomorrow night on The CW for NXT.”

Arianna Grace & Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo Could Be The Perfect WWE Main Roster Package

While Arianna Grace is thoroughly entertaining in her own right, her partnership with fiancé Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo has really shone in recent months.

While they’ve only really been featured in Birthright on NXT, the duo had a top storyline in TNA recently, as Grace held the Knockouts World Title and they were feuding with her father and TNA authority figure Santino Marella.

Stacks is one of the most underrated wrestlers in the ring in NXT right now, and Grace’s entertainment value makes them the perfect partnership.

There aren’t many couples who actually perform together on the main roster at the moment, but Stacks and Grace could absolutely be one of them.

They’ve both been in NXT long enough now to where it wouldn’t be surprise to see them on the WWE main roster soon – All of Birthright going up together might be a stretch, but even just Stacks and Grace as a pair going up would be a good move.
