AEW Star Reveals Locker Room Atmosphere After CM Punk Was Fired AEW

During the post-All Out media scrum, Adam Cole was asked how the AEW locker room atmosphere has been since CM Punk was fired.

Punk was announced as having been fired from AEW yesterday thanks in a big way to the backstage incident involving Punk at All In which Tony Khan claimed made Khan feel like his “life was in danger”.

The question was asked of Cole what the locker room has been like after the Punk news, and although Cole didn’t actually mention Punk in particular, this was his reply:

“So as far as the vibe, the excitement these past few weeks about these events that we’ve had has not gone unnoticed by anybody.

“Again, All In happening, Wembley Stadium, 81,035 people breaking the record highest paid attendance in pro-wrestling history. Everyone was jazzed and so excited for that show.

“This week coming into tonight, knowing that we had to follow up such a huge event, the locker room was stoked, the locker room was ready to go, they were ready to put on the best show they possibly could.

“Most importantly, we’re just so excited for the future, man. It’s like AEW as a whole has made so many incredible strides in such a short time. This company has not been around for a super, super long time, so thinking about the next year, two years, five years, 10 years, has everybody so pumped and so ready to go.

“So the locker room’s feeling good man, they are.”

In reality, PWInsider reported on Saturday that the reaction at Collision was mixed.

Some were disappointed about the news, some happy with it, and some just glad Tony Khan made a decision.

Khan was also asked what he learned from the experience and what he could do to prevent it from happening again in the future.

Khan didn’t answer and the Cole section of the media scrum ended.

At All Out tonight, Cole and MJF retained the ROH World Tag Team Championship against Alex Reynolds and John Silver.
