An AEW star has said that he is still in the midst of negotiating a new contract with the company amid an upcoming expiration.
It was recently reported that AEW star Matt Hardy’s contract with the company is set to expire at the end of this month.
Speaking on his Xtreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt provided an update on his contract status.
Matt said that there is ‘nothing really new’ to report on his status, and he’s still negotiating and figuring out what is happening.
Hardy has previously said that he has enjoyed working for AEW and hopes to stick around, though he would be fine if it didn’t end up happening.
Hardy joined AEW back in March 2020 as his ‘Broken’ character, taking part in the first Stadium Stampede at Double or Nothing that year.
Matt was joined by his brother Jeff in 2022, reuniting the Hardys in AEW for matches against the Young Bucks.
Jeff’s contract is not set to expire at the same time as Matt’s, despite their contracts being linked when Jeff joined the company, due to Jeff having additional time added due to injuries and absences.
