AEW Star Returns With New Name

AEW Star Returns With New Name AEW

UPDATE: After several changes made during tonight’s Dynamite, the full updated card for AEW All In can be found at this link.

Two AEW stars have returned on tonight’s AEW Dynamite with one returning with a new name.

On tonight’s AEW Dynamite, it seems that two of the mystery partners for the Blackpool Combat Club have been revealed.

With Rey Fenix seemingly being written out of appearing at AEW All In, he was attacked by two stars, one who has been out of action for nearly six months, and one who has been out for over a year.

Both Santana and Ortiz returned on Dynamite tonight.

As for the new name, Exalibur made a specific point to repeatedly refer to Santana as “Mike Santana”. Mike is his real first name, but he was always officially just Santana in AEW until now.

While the Blackpool Combat Club was attacking Rey Fenix in the ring, Eddie Kingston and Penta El Zero Miedo came out to try and save Fenix.

However, Ortiz appeared and cut them off, with Santana closely behind him, making it clear that they are now on the BCC side for Stadium Stampede.

A subsequent angle featuring Wheeler Yuta hitting Rey Fenix with a crowbar led to Fenix being taken away from the arena on a stretcher.

This was done as a way to write Fenix out of the Stadium Stampede at All In likely due to travel/visa issues.

So as things stand, the match is currently Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Mike Santana and Ortiz vs Orange Cassidy, Eddie Kingston, Best Friends, and Penta El Zero Miedo.

The match is officially confirmed to be five-on-five, not six-on-six as originally advertised.
