AEW Star Spotted In WWE SummerSlam Vignette

During a vignette setting up the SummerSlam match between Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, another familiar face was shown.

With Baszler discussing how the narrative might be that Rousey “took care of” her fellow MMA Four Horsewomen, Shayna said she really only let them stay at her house so she had people to beat up, not out of the kindness of her heart.

While the term ‘Four Horsewomen’ actually wasn’t uttered, still photos were shown including Baszler, Rousey and two other major MMA names doing their signature pose.

Multiple photos were shown featuring Ronda Rousey, current AEW star Marina Shafir, Shayna Baszler and Jessamyn Duke during the vignette.

With WWE trending towards addressing more non-WWE specific history (most directly as has been the case with Cody Rhodes), the shared past between Baszley and Rousey would be difficult to explain without mention of their MMA origins, which includes AEW’s Shafir.

Leading nicely into the reveal of the special stipulation for the upcoming SummerSlam match, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler will face off in an ‘MMA Rules’ match.
