WWE Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match At WrestleMania 42 Plans

This week’s episode of WWE Raw saw Penta retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Kofi Kingston.

Post-match, Penta took to the mic to announce the ladder match at WrestleMania 42 against anyone who wants to be part of the match.

It was later clarified that Penta, Dragon Lee, Je’Von Evans, Rusev and JD McDonagh were the contenders “thus far”.

Further details emerged on the WWE website, which revealed that the qualifying matches for the ladder match all took place on episodes of Main Event.

For those who may not keep up with the weekly YouTube series, the WWE feature states that JD McDonagh defeated Akira Tozawa, with that match seeming to be from the January 23 episode, while Dragon Lee qualified by beating Grayson Waller on February 12. Yet to air, Je’Von Evans would be victorious over Rayo Americano, and Rusev defeated Otis, with both matches taking place on the upcoming April 2 show.

As with all WWE Main Event matches, these were pre-taped ahead of the show itself, with the most recent being recorded at Madison Square Garden, the home of this week’s WWE Raw.
