Former AEW Tag Partners Set For Match Against Each Other

Former AEW Tag Partners Set For Match Against Each Other AEW

On tonight’s episode of AEW Rampage, it became clear that former AEW tag partners were set on a collision course with one another.

In a fiery vignette featuring both Santana and Ortiz giving their perspective on their friendship split, the pair mutually agreed that the time for talking had ended.

With each ready to go to battle in the ring, seems to be only a matter of time before a match between the former friends is set for AEW programming.

In the closing moments, Ortiz told Mike Santana that he was going to take his knee away from him whereas Santana countered that it wasn’t karma that injured his knee.

It was from having “carried a monkey on his back” for all these years, i.e. Ortiz’s real life nickname, used on AEW television by Eddie Kingston.

You can see the clip of the passionate promo below.

Elsewhere on social media, Tony Khan announced a championship bout added to tomorrow night’s episode of AEW Collision.

Noting that Skye Blue was ’embracing her darker side’, she would be challenging ‘her friend’ Kris Statlander for the TNT Championship at AEW Collision.

No date has been announced yet for Santana vs. Ortiz but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as soon as more is known.
