AEW’s Dax Harwood has responded to Damian Priest’s comments on the ‘WWE Superstars’ vs ‘professional wrestlers’ debate.
Once an athlete joins WWE, they’re referred to as a WWE Superstar, in the ‘Sports Entertainment’ business. Damian Priest recently spoke about this distinction, believing that anyone can be a wrestler, but there’s only one place to be a WWE Superstar.
Seemingly satisfied with not being known as the latter, Harwood tweeted:
“Yeah, but I want to be a pro wrestler”
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler (fka Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) The duo were released from their WWE contracts in April 2020, and debuted for AEW that May.
In a recent Twitter Q&A session, Harwood noted that he’d return to WWE ‘if the money and circumstances were right‘.
In December 2021, the Harwood & Wheeler stated that they don’t have much longer on their AEW contracts. This led to speculation that the duo signed two-year deals ahead of their debuts, which would mean that their current deals are set to expire in May 2022.
