Matt Hardy has commented on the possibility of him appearing at an upcoming WWE event, amid speculation about his AEW status.
With Matt Hardy’s AEW contract expiring at the end of March, the former WWE star’s in-ring future is currently unclear.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Hardy confirmed that there have been talks and he has a contract offer in his hands but he is evaluating things.
With WrestleMania 40 just around the corner fans have been recalling numerous WrestleMania moments, including Matt and Jeff Hardy’s WWE returns at WrestleMania 33 to enter the Raw Tag Team Title ladder match.
When asked if we could see something like that again, Matt Hardy said:
“It’s great that people think that. That makes me happy. It makes people excited.
“If you hear someone talk about a ladder match, are they gonna show up? That’s great.
“I don’t know. It’s pro wrestling and in pro wrestling, never say never.”
It’s worth noting that there’s been no word on Jeff Hardy’s contract also coming up, so a return as a tag team right now may not be a possibility.
A six-pack tag-team ladder match for both the Raw and SmackDown tag titles will take place on WrestleMania 40 Saturday.
Rumors about Hardy potentially leaving AEW to re-join WWE were fuelled recently when Hardy attended the March 18 edition of Monday Night Raw.
Hardy recently commented on his WWE visit, explaining why he attended a recent Raw taping, which you can read more about right here.
