The first WWE match for AJ Lee in over 10 years was officially confirmed during tonight’s September 8 episode of Raw.
On SmackDown this past Friday, AJ made her return to WWE for her first appearance since March 2015 as her husband CM Punk’s equalizer for Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.
This was followed up tonight on Raw with AJ’s first Raw appearance in over a decade, during which she entered with Lynch’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship belt after essentially stealing it on SmackDown.
Firstly, AJ reintroduced herself to the fans, and introduced herself to newer ones who weren’t around when she was last in the company, saying:
“So for those of you who weren’t here 10 years ago and were really confused as to why your millenial parents were very excited on Friday, allow me to introduce myself.
“My name is AJ Lee. And I am your favorite wrestler’s favorite wrestler.”

AJ then took some time to discuss her journey over the last 10 years, including reflecting on her mental health and going to therapy – even resulting in a therapy chant from the crowd.
Soon enough though, she was cut off by Becky Lynch who came out onto the ramp sporting a black eye after AJ slapped her on Friday, and was demanding for AJ to give her title belt back.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins then joined his wife Lynch on the ramp, at which point AJ stipulated that she’d give the belt back if they agreed to a tag team match of Lynch and Rollins vs AJ and Punk.
Rollins then took it upon himself to get in the ring and get in AJ’s face – that led to CM Punk coming out and attempting a GTS, but Rollins managed to escape.
However, Rollins did accept the match and it is now officially confirmed for WWE Wrestlepalooza on September 20.
Also newly confirmed for Wrestlepalooza on tonight’s Raw was The Usos vs Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed.
Those are in addition to the already confirmed Stephanie Vaquer vs Naomi for the Women’s World Championship, and John Cena vs Brock Lesnar.
