Cody Rhodes had mentioned recently that he hoped Red Velvet would be signed to an official All Elite Wrestling contract. Well, now he has gotten his wish.
It was announced earlier today Tony Khan had officially signed her to an AEW contract. This comes after a breakout performance during her tag match against Jade Cargill and Shaquille O’Neal. Here is the announcement tweet from Cody Rhodes:
At The Crossroads @AEWonTNT event squaring off against @SHAQ & Jade…Red stepped up in a huge way! @TonyKhan saw what over a million people saw that night and upgraded her contract. She’s ALL ELITE now! Let’s stir it up my friend. pic.twitter.com/1bJ2JVx280

Red Velvet has continued her rivalry with Jade Cargill since the tag match as well. They had an altercation on a recent episode of AEW Dynamite and Cargill recently cut a promo on her setting up a future singles match.
Red Velvet made her first appearance for All Elite Wrestling in June 2020, wrestling on Dark. It took until October for her to pick up her first win but since then she has won 12 of her last 15 matches. She has been aligned with Cody and Brandi Rhodes in recent months and now that she has signed an official contract, it seems possible that she will join the Nightmare Family in the future.
Red Velvet’s most recent match came in the form of a win on AEW Dark Elevation. She teamed with Big Swole to defeat Leva Bates and Madi Wrenkowski.
