Andrade El Idolo has said that he feels “stagnant” in AEW, adding further fuel to the rumors that he may soon leave the company for WWE.
El Idolo’s comments come after several months of seemingly teasing his departure from AEW on social media.
Speaking to Más Lucha, Andrade said:
“Right now I feel a little stagnant. I feel like I want more. I feel like although I have a good contract, the schedule is good. I like the schedule because WWE was inhuman, it was quite a lot.
“People cannot imagine, they think because he is fighting on TV, it is the only time he fights. There are non-televised matches in other cities, other countries. Right now it’s difficult because I want more. I feel like I want more now that Rush is back. It’s the pressure that we want more.”
El Idolo is not the only one potentially hinting that he may soon leave AEW. AEW veteran Shawn Spears tweeted a gif saying “Goodbye,” before swiftly deleting the post.
Sammy Guevara has also stoked the flames on social media, tweeting “You are a jobber. A favor hire. Be grateful b*tch.” Though Guevara did not tag anybody in the post, many have speculated it could have been directed at either Spears or El Idolo.
This coming Friday (October 7) on AEW Rampage, Andrade will face Dark Order’s Pres10 Vance in a match that plays into Andrade’s apparent teases to leave AEW, as the stipulation is that if he loses, he must leave the company, but if Vance loses, Vance must unmask.
