Former NXT star Andre Chase has confirmed his post-WWE ring name will be Andre Chance following his release from the company.

Andre Chase was one of the multitude of names who were released by WWE during the annual layoff period after WrestleMania 42 in April.

Chase had a prominent role on NXT TV from late 2021 to late 2024 as the leader of Chase University, including two NXT Tag Team Title reigns – one with Duke Hudson and one with Ridge Holland.

However, in late 2024, Holland defeated Chase in a match that meant Chase U would have to disband, and after that point, other than a middling run with a new version of Chase U featuring Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors, Chase was phased out of being a regular television character.

After being quiet since initially announcing his WWE release in April, Chase has re-emerged on social media today.

He confirmed that his new name going forwars will be ‘The Professor’ Andre Chance, and he’s now officially available for bookings for matches, meet & greets, signings and seminars.

Before joining WWE, Chase had worked under the name Harlem Bravado in promotions such as ROH and Evolve

WWE Failed To Capitalize On Chase University

It seemed relatively clear early on that Andre Chase’s role in NXT would be to help develop some of the younger athletes coming through the system, and he would end up left behind.

However, Chase U as a group – specifically the version with Chase, Duke Hudson and Thea Hail – grew into one of the most popular acts on the brand, and really should have been given a chance on the WWE main roster.

The decision for Holland to defeat Chase and split up the group has proven to be the wrong one, with Thea Hail the only remaining member of the group still under contract to WWE, and other than her accidental NXT Women’s North American Title win, she hasn’t been used anywhere near as prominently as she was during her time with Chase U.
