Mercedes Mone made her return to AEW on tonight’s June 3 episode of Dynamite taking place in Richmond, Virginia.
A couple of weeks ago, Willow Nightingale made the announcement that she had to both vacate the TBS Championship and withdraw from the Owen Hart Foundation tournament due to injury.
That left a spot to be filled in the tournament, which was announced as a ‘Wild Card’ for tonight’s match against Alex Windsor.
Replacing Nightingale was the woman she beat for the TBS Championship, Mercedes Mone, who defeated Windsor tonight to advance in the tournament,
Mone, who won the Owen Hart Foundation tournament last year, will now face the winner of Persephone vs Hazuki in the semi-final round.
On the other side of the bracket, Athena defeated Mina Shirakawa at Double Or Nothing to advance to the semi-finals where she will face the winner of Skye Blue vs Sareee.
Tonight marked Mercedes Mone’s first match in AEW since she lost the TBS Title to the aforementioned Willow Nightingale at the very end of 2025.
During her time away from AEW, Mone has dropped all the championships she previously held outside of the company in her ‘belt collector’ run.
Her last seven matches have seen her lose titles to Nightingale, Persephone, Swan, Mila Smidt, Alexxis Falcon, Diana Strong and Jody Threat.
