Sol Ruca has shared some love for her former WWE tag team partner Zaria, saying she hopes they can team up again in the future.

Ruca and Zaria broke up a few months ago prior to Ruca joining the main roster, with Zaria defeating her in a Last Woman Standing match on Ruca’s way out of NXT.

Despite the issues at the end of their run together, Ruca gave a shoutout to Zaria among the names who have helped her on her journey so far in WWE.

Speaking with No-Contest Wrestling, Ruca was asked to list some of those names, and bringing up Zaria, she said:

“I do wanna give a shoutout to Zaria, even though we have some beef. I would love to end up tagging with her again.

“I do think we need some time apart, but I think the moments that her and I had throughout our time in NXT, I feel like both of us grew so much and all the moments we’ve had together have been some of my absolute favorite moments in wrestling so far.”

Why Sol Ruca Makes Her Own Ring Gear

Elsewhere in the interview, Sol Ruca explained why she joined a small number of other WWE stars including the likes of Bianca Belair and Lince Dorado in making her own ring gear.

She explained that it was always something she was kind of interested in, but it was also something of a necessity when she was returning to WWE NXT after her ACL injury sooner than she thought, and she couldn’t get hold of anyone else who could make gear in time.

She said:

“When I was really young, I would always change my career goal. Anytime anyone would ask me as a kid, ‘What do you wanna be when you grow up?’ It would change all the time, so I went through a phase where I wanted to be a fashion designer.

“I got a sewing machine, I learned how to use one stitch and then never used it again. But there were times where my dad was getting rid of a pair of pants or something like that, and I was like, ‘Wait a second, I’m gonna turn that into something.’ I cut it up, used safety pins and whatnot, and made this whole dress and this little headband situation. I think it’s on my mom’s Facebook somewhere.

“I feel like I’ve always kind of been interested in that kind of stuff. I feel like I like being hands on and I like making things, and just testing myself to see, ‘Maybe I can do that, I feel like it’s not that hard, I’ll teach myself.’

“But when I got cleared from my ACL injury, I needed gear and I needed it way quicker than I thought I did. So I was messaging around people trying to figure out if they could do something for me.

“No-one could, so I was like, ‘You know what, I’m just gonna go buy a sewing machine today, and I’m gonna figure it out.’ And I figured it out.

“It wasn’t the best gear I’ve ever seen in my entire life, but it worked. And I feel like I’ve gotten so much better since I started.

“It’s kind of a bit of both where it’s something that I’ve been interested in, but also, I kind of needed to at a certain point”
