Over the weekend, Presidential candidate Andrew Yang took to Twitter to share his feelings about Vince McMahon and WWE’s new edict on its wrestlers using third-party platforms, even threatening government action against the company.
Since then, Yang sat down for an interview with Chris Van Vliet (which you can check out by clicking here). During the interview, Yang revealed that he was actually contacted about the new edict by someone within WWE:
‘I actually got a message from someone who is part of the WWE, pointing out to me this story about how WWE was saying “hey don’t go on Cameo or Twitch.”
Yang then went on to explain why the news of WWE trying to ban its wrestlers, who are classified as “independent contractors” form using Twitch and Cameo angered him so much:
“It infuriated me because I know that the WWE has been trying to play it both ways for years now, where they’re saying on one hand you can’t do anything without our sayso we own you, but you’re an independent contractor and we have nothing to do with your health, retirement, any of the benefits that would ecurde to an employee.”
