Another Main Roster WWE Star Moves Back To NXT

I’m not actually sure it’s fair to say “moves back to NXT” anymore, given that the developmental product is so much more enjoyable than anything the main roster is doing at the moment.

We reported earlier this week that former SAnitY member Killian Dain had officially made the move from SmackDown Live to NXT, and now another main roster star has made the same trip.

Tyler Breeze has appeared on NXT TV and several live shows over the past few months, but he has now made the switch full time according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Dave Meltzer simply writes:

“[Tyler] Breeze has also been moved off the main roster to NXT.”

Slight spoiler, but Breeze appeared at the latest taping for NXT last night (May 1) to seemingly confirm the permanent move.

It’s a move that will likely come as a huge relief to the former Fashion Police member, who was once one of the leading lights of the NXT roster. His recent match with Ricochet for the North American Championship is proof that he can still go as well as anyone in the ring, despite his years as a comedy act on Raw and SmackDown Live.

It will be interesting to see whether more under-utilised or completely unused stars will make the same move in the coming months with WWE so keen on holding onto talent. Perhaps appeasing their talent by letting them go back to NXT and actually have matches is the only way.
