Another Replacement WWE Commentator Revealed

Another Replacement WWE Commentator Revealed WWE

Another replacement WWE commentator has been revealed as tonight’s airing of Main Event on Peacock had a unique line-up.

After the announcement on Monday night’s episode of WWE Raw that the pairing of Michael Cole and Pat McAfee would be on the call for Raw going forward, there was also a change on the team for Main Event, which is taped weekly right before Raw.

The commentary team for Main Event this week was Blake Howard and ‘Road Dogg’ Brian James, rather than either of the usual teams of Howard and Byron Saxton, or Saxton and Wade Barrett.

James had recently filled in for Corey Graves on SmackDown one week while Graves was on leave after the birth of his child with WWE star Carmella.

Barrett being replaced by Pat McAfee on Raw meant he wasn’t present so of course couldn’t do Main Event beforehand, and Saxton didn’t seem to be at Raw this week either as he wasn’t seen in any backstage interview segments on Raw itself.

So while there’s no firm indication that the change for Main Event is permanent, recent reports suggest that the yet to be revealed new permanent commentary team for SmackDown will be two familiar faces.

Recent reports note that the SmackDown commentary team will be Corey Graves and Wade Barrett.

It was also noted that Corey Graves would move into the lead announcer position while Barrett would be in the ‘color commentary’ role.

Elsewhere expected on tomorrow night’s February 2 edition of SmackDown, a rare appearance by Roman Reigns .

Conveniently set to occur on the same night as a pre-announced appearance on SmackDown by Cody Rhodes, fans are perhaps set to see the beginnings of their WrestleMania 40 feud.
