Former WWE Main Roster Star Addresses NXT Future

Former WWE Main Roster Star Addresses NXT Future WWE

Apollo Crews has shared his thoughts on his move from the WWE main roster to NXT.

Crews started out on the NXT roster, making his television debut for the brand in 2015.

He was moved to the main roster in 2016 and had an eventful run, winning the US and Intercontinental titles during his Raw and SmackDown stints.

Apollo returned to NXT this year, making his TV return on the June 7 episode, confronting Bron Breakker.

In an interview with Wrestling Inc. Senior News Editor Nick Hausman, Crews explained why he is not in a hurry to return to the main roster.

He said:

“I’m not in a hurry, because I want to keep developing and keep bringing more sides out of me before going back and presenting whatever package is presented.

“But I want to be able to have all my angles covered to where that mistake isn’t made again of ‘Okay, here I am, just smile and do cool stuff.’

“I need that depth…I need to really understand the different levels of who I am to be the best superstar that I can be.”

While he may be happy on NXT, for now, Crews hopes his time at NXT will serve his goals in the future.

He continued:

“So obviously, of course, WrestleMania is the goal. ‘Raw,’ ‘SmackDown,’ of course those, that’s definitely the goal.

“But right now, I’m enjoying the time that I have in ‘NXT’ and the way I feel like if I handle my business here correctly, all those things will fall in place.

“I’ll just control what I can and make the best of what I’m doing and let the rest take care of itself.”

Apollo Crews will challenge Bron Breakker for the NXT Championship at NXT Deadline on December 10.
