Backstage Notes On WWE Possibly Signing Jay White

There have been many rumours of New Japan Pro Wrestling star Jay White joining WWE over the last few days. After he lost at Wrestle Kingdom 15, he had a breakdown during an interview saying he was “done” with the company.

Many people played this up as kayfabe but in the days that have passed there has been growing speculation that White may indeed leave the company. Now, the highly reputable WrestleVotes Twitter account has reported that a number of the boys backstage at WWE have spoken very highly of White. Here is the tweet:

Lots of Jay White / WWE rumors swirling and I can say with certainly that a few of the boys have went out of their way to speak highly of him. And that resonates with some more than others. It’s “game” time.

In my own personal conversations with WWE stars, they have only had good things to say about White.

It remains to be seen whether Jay White will leave New Japan Pro Wrestling. He has been one of their most heavily pushed stars since his redebut in 2017. We will continue to provide updates on his situation as more details become available.

White’s performance at Wrestle Kingdom 15 has also been heralded by many in the industry. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently said White’s performance made him the ultimate pro wrestler.
