The backstage reaction to Indi Hartwell’s WWE release has now been revealed courtesy of a new report.

Yesterday (November 1), it was reported that former WWE NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell, along with Tegan Nox had been released from their WWE contracts – with Baron Corbin also confirming via social media that he would departing the company at the end of his existing deal.

Following this news a new report from Fightful Select has shed light on Hartwell’s release, and the reaction to it from within the company.

The report notes that of the three departures Hartwell was the most “unexpected”, with the 28-year-old competing on last night’s SmackDown, which was taped the week prior on October 25.

When Fightful asked for reactions from staff members and talent, many felt as if Hartwell was “coming into her own” on social media skits lately.

Hartwell signed to WWE in 2019, making her TV debut in January 2020 on NXT.

In her time on the brand she would become NXT Women’s Tag Team and NXT Women’s Champion in that time, before being called up to Monday Night Raw in the 2023 draft and later moved to SmackDown the following year.

Hartwell has since commented on her release from WWE, which you can read more about at this link here.
