Former WWE Champion Big E has advocated for black women in professional wrestling following racist abuse aimed towards Bianca Belair.
The former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion was the victim of racial abuse on social media today following her inclusion on the cover of WWE 2K24’s Deluxe Edition.
Taking to Twitter following the abuse aimed at Belair, former WWE Champion Big E championed the many black women in wrestling, saying “fans” can not erase their contributions.
He said:
The black women in this industry face a regular barrage of racism & misogyny from “fans.” And have for far too long. You cannot diminish their light. You cannot erase their contributions to this industry.
Many other WWE stars have come out in support of Bianca Belair on social media today, including current Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, which you can see here.
Big E has been out of action with a broken neck that he suffered on SmackDown in March 2022.
