Big E Wants WWE Star To Be Celebrated For His Work ‘Behind Closed Doors’ WWE

Big E has reflected on one of the most well-remembered matches of his career, whilst shifting credit to a Raw star for making it “special”.

It can now be argued that the New Day and the Usos are two of the greatest teams in WWE history.

Many fans believe that the two teams’ rivalry is one of the best of the modern era, with their 2017 Hell in a Cell match previously receiving a lot of praise.

Speaking on WWE’s After the Bell With Corey Graves, Big E shared his thought on this bout, a match that fans still bring up to E, to this day.

Big E said:

“It’s still heartwarming for me to see people still bring up the Hell in a Cell match with The Usos because we still think that was so special and so much of that is (Xavier) Woods’ mind, it’s him — we all brought the best of ourselves to that and he brought the best of himself to that.”

While E credits Woods as the mind behind much of the match, he also gave credit to his New Day teammate for his work behind the scenes in the company, primarily through his UpUpDownDown YouTube channel.

E continued:

“But it’s also what he’s doing outside of the ring.

“This man has created jobs, he’s created a gaming channel that brought the locker room together, that got the boys and the girls pay days.

“We’ve had opportunities to go to incredible Comic-Cons to just do amazing things because of this and so he’s really — I don’t think we will really understand the impact that he’s had on the industry.

“Much of it might be behind closed doors, but he’s really helped people in so many ways.

“He’s a beautiful human being, a really giving person.

“So he’s just someone that I wanna give him his flowers at all times because he’s amazing…”

Big E and The New Day have already more than solidified their status as future Hall of Famers in WWE, however, fans are still hoping that there could be more to come from E in particular as his in-ring career remains in doubt after breaking his neck in March 2022.
