Top WWE Star Says Match With Batista ‘Would Be Big Box Office’ WWE

A top WWE star says match with Batista “would be big box office.”

After making his name for himself in WWE from 2002 to 2004, Brock Lesnar became a top star in the MMA world and beat Randy Couture to become the UFC Heavyweight Champion.

His success led to other wrestling stars making their way into MMA with Batista and Bobby Lashley making their own names inside the cage. Besides this MMA connection and their time together in WWE, many have acknowledged the parallels in both men’s careers.

Speaking on the Perform Podcast, Lashley was asked about a potential match with Batista. He answered:

“I love where Dave is and I never try to drum up any controversy or any kind of friction. Dave is definitely somebody I would love to have a match with.”

“It would be something that would do some huge box office numbers. Dave, since he’s left WWE, his whole entire career has exploded to another level. Of course you want to bring somebody like him back.”

“If we can, I know it would be a great match up. I never say that one person is going to win in a competition like that. I’m always betting on myself, but at the end of the day, the fans would win that.”

Batista retired from professional wrestling after last competing at WrestleMania 35. He is now a prominent actor in Hollywood with his notable role as “Drax” in the Guardians of the Galaxy films.

Meanwhile, Bobby Lashley recently made his return to WWE programming in segments with The Street Profits, Trick Williams and NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes.

Lashley is still on the active roster with his last match on the May 12 edition of WWE SmackDown.
