What Happened In Bryan Danielson Vs Kazuchika Okada NJPW Rematch AEW/NJPW

Here’s what happened during the highly anticipated rematch between AEW’s Bryan Danielson and Kazuchika Okada at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18.

Following the duo’s first singles match at AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2023, Danielson and Okada ran their dream match back in the co-main event of the January 4 NJPW Tokyo Dome event.

While Danielson won the first bout, the AEW star had travelled to Japan with a chip on his shoulder, telling everyone his goal was to break Okada’s arm, after he suffered a broken arm during the Forbidden Door clash.

As expected, Danielson and Okada had a great rematch, with momentum going back and forth the entire time.

Both survived each other’s best shots, with Kazuchika kicking out of the Busaiku Knee and refusing to tap to the submission that Danielson got him to submit to at Forbidden Door, and Danielson initially surviving Okada’s signature Rainmaker clothesline.

Kazuchika Okada was ultimately victorious, pinning Danielson after a Rainmaker clothesline after 23 minutes of action.

You can view highlights from the match below.

Following the bout, Okada got to his knees to bow to Danielson, who then bowed back, in a heartwarming moment which you can also watch below.

Danielson then raised Okada’s arm before leaving the ring.

Bryan Danielson is currently wrestling in his final year as a full-time performer, with the popular star set to transition into a part-time star in September.

The former WWE Champion has now revealed how often he plans to wrestle as a part-time wrestler, which you can read more about right here.
