Here’s how many matches AEW’s Bryan Danielson plans to have after he transitions into a part-time star later this year.
Following All Out in September 2023, Danielson announced the beginning of his final year as a full-time AEW wrestler.
While Danielson doesn’t intend to retire, he made it clear that he planned to vastly reduce his schedule.
There has been a lot of speculation about Danielson’s wrestling future, with fans unsure how often they’ll see the popular star wrestle after this September.
Speaking with Tokyo Sports, Danielson stated that he aims to have between 5 and 10 matches a year after he becomes a party time star.
Danielson said:
“I’ve been fighting every week for a long time, and I’m trying to narrow down my matches.
“After this year, I think I’ll try to have 5 to 10 matches a year,”
For comparison, Danielson wrestled 29 matches in 2023 per CageMatch, first defeating Tony Nese on the January 4, 2023 Dynamite, and finishing the year with a win alongside Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia and Mark Briscoe against Brody King, Jay Lethal, Jay White and Rush at the December 30 Worlds End pay-per-view.
Danielson’s first match of 2024 was against Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 18 on Thursday (January 4).
A former WWE star who Danielson is familiar with made a surprise appearance on the show, which you can read more about right here.
