Champion Vacates Championship Ahead Of AEW Dynamite Title Match AEW

A champion who is set for action on this week’s AEW Dynamite show has officially vacated their championship.

On the May 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy was attacked backstage by IWGP Tag Team and NJPW STRONG Tag Team Champion Kyle Fletcher.

Fletcher is set to face Cassidy for the title on this week’s episode of Dynamite in Las Vegas, but he won’t be doing so as a champion.

On last night’s NJPW Resurgence show, Fletcher came to the ring with the titles, when it was announced that, due to an injury to his partner Mark Davis, Aussie Open would officially be vacating both sets of Tag Team Championships.

Both pairs of new champions are set to be crowned at NJPW Dominion on June 4.

Those weren’t the only matches set for Dominion on the show, as the final of the tournament to determine a challenger for Kenny Omega’s IWGP United States Championship was also set on the show.

The show was not without injury of it’s own, with Mercedes Mone suffering an injury during the show’s main event.
