On tonight’s AEW Collision, multiple championship matches have been added to the card for AEW WrestleDream 2023.
Eddie Kingston appeared in a video package, challenging Katsuyori Shibata to a match.
Noting that he would put both his recently won Ring of Honor World Championship and NJPW Strong Openweight Championship on the line against the ROH Pure Champion Shibata, the match was made official shortly thereafter.
Elsewhere on Collision, shortly after Christian Cage won the TNT Championship he was met by Tony Schiavone in a backstage interview segment.
Schiavone revealing that during the commercial break, Tony Khan had made it official that Cage would defend his TNT Championship at WrestleDream against Darby Allin in a two out of three falls match.
Later in the show, a challenge for the TBS Championship was waged by Julia Hart so she will challenge Kris Statlander at the October 1 pay-per-view.
Also confirmed after they won a #1 contender match on last night’s Rampage, the Righteous will challenge MJF and Adam Cole for the ROH World Tag Team Championship at WrestleDream, so it seems Cole will be cleared to return by then.
In a new non-championship match for WrestleDream, Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho and Kota Ibushi vs the Don Callis Family of Konosuke Takeshita, Sammy Guevara and Will Ospreay was confirmed for WrestleDream as well.
Later in the show, a four-way tag team #1 contender match was announced for WrestleDream between the Young Bucks, HOOK & Orange Cassidy, the Lucha Bros, and Austin & Colten Gunn.
