Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth has provided an update on the previously announced Hulk Hogan Netflix biopic.
It was first reported in 2019 that MCU Thor actor Chris Hemsworth would be playing the role of Hulk Hogan in an upcoming Netflix biopic on the wrestling legend.
There have been few updates in the years since, but Hemsworth has now shared a little insight into the project’s development.
In a new interview clip shared by Daily Distraction on Comicbook.com, Hemsworth indicated that the project is still in very early stages of development, noting:
“Oh that film’s a while away. It’s sort of in the development stage, you know? If it comes to fruition, great, Todd Phillips is brilliant. I haven’t ripped any shirts off yet, but you’ll be the first to hear about it when I do.”
Todd Phillips, who is slated to direct the project, recently revealed that he has been working on the script to a sequel of his 2019 ‘Joker’ film.
Hogan’s name has been controversial since offensive remarks made by him surfaced in 2015. His last major appearance for WWE was as a co-host for WrestleMania 37 in April 2021, alongside Titus O’Neil.
