John Cena has reflected on his WWE debut, revealing the first worlds Vince McMahon said after meeting him for the first time.
WWE is currently celebrating 20 years of John Cena. The company has now shared a video of Cena reacting to his official WWE debut match against Kurt Angle on the June 27 edition of SmackDown.
During the video, Cena recalled being introduced to Vince McMahon, and the WWE Chairman demanding that his hair was cut.
Reflecting on the events leading up to his first main roster match, Cena said:
“I found out at 2:45 in the afternoon that I’d be wrestling Kurt Angle. I had one meeting with Mr. McMahon before this, and I was pushed into his office and Michael Hayes asked like, ‘What do we do with this?’, and Mr. McMahon’s first sentence to me – it was a short meeting – he said, ‘Cut his f**king hair’, and then I was out of the office.”
Cena went on to form a bond with McMahon, with the 16-time World Champion previously calling the WWE Chairman “a close friend, a mentor, a father figure.”
Following teases that he’s set for a title feud, WWE has announced that Cena will make his WWE return on the June 27 edition of WWE Raw.
Vince McMahon is reportedly currently shopping his memoir, which you can read more about right here.
