An incredible Cody Rhodes statistic has emerged following his impressive performance at WWE Hell in a Cell.
At a house show the day before the June 5 premium live event, it was stated that Rhodes was injured, ahead of his scheduled main event bout. During the actual show, WWE confirmed that Rhodes had suffered a torn pectoral muscle.
The former AEW EVP went on to wrestle Seth Rollins for 24 minutes in the final bout of the premium live event, making headlines after revealing a painful-looking bruise during his entrance.
Per the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, not only did Hell in a Cell receive the usual number of Google searches that a WWE special usually draws, Cody Rhodes received the same number of searches on the day of the event, making history:
“The show had the usual 200,000 Google searches that most WWE PPV shows get, similar to that of Double or Nothing the week before. There were another 200,000 searches that day for Rhodes, the most of any individual wrestler on a pro wrestling PPV show in years.”
Rhodes was written off of WWE TV on Monday’s episode of Raw following an attack from Seth Rollins. Cody’s wife Brandi Rhodes has since confirmed that Cody has underwent successful surgery.
We will continue to provide updates on Cody Rhodes’ condition as they become available.
