The next championship match for Chris Jericho in AEW has seemingly been revealed during tonight’s Collision Grand Slam.
Tonight’s September 28 show, taped September 25, played host to a trios match with ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy and Kyle O’Reilly teaming up against Chris Jericho, Big Bill and Bryan Keith.
Jericho’s team picked up the win, with Jericho himself pinning Briscoe after Big Bill chokeslammed Briscoe through a table.
After the match, Jericho made it clear that he wants a shot at Briscoe’s ROH World Championship, with commentary also repeatedly making that clear.
It’s unknown right now when the match will take place, but it does seem inevitable based on Jericho’s actions post-match and the announcers’ comments.
The details of the next ROH pay-per-view haven’t been announced, but the match could just take place on an AEW show.
Jericho has had one previous reign as ROH World Champion, winning it from Claudio Castagnoli at Dynamite Grand Slam in September 2022, before losing it back to Castagnoli at ROH Final Battle the following December.
Current champion Briscoe has held the title since April 2024, when he won it from Eddie Kingston at Supercard of Honor.
