WWE Star Claims He Wasn’t Told He’d Be In CM Punk Return Segment

WWE star Jey Uso has commented on CM Punk’s return, claiming that the wrestlers in the ring at Survivor Series weren’t told what was going to happen.

In one of the most memorable moments of 2023, CM Punk made his surprise return to WWE in the closing moments of Survivor Series 2023.

With Punk’s music interrupting the celebrations of Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, Randy Orton and Jey Uso following their WarGames match, clips quickly emerged of the different Judgment Day members at ringside, reacting to Punk’s comeback.

Speaking with TNT Sports, Jey Uso claimed that the moment was a surprise for everyone in the ring.

Stating that the reactions that fans filmed were out of character, he said:

“It was a surprise, Uce. You could tell all of us, as soon as the music hit, we all stopped being in character. We’re off standing in the middle of the ring talking, like, what’s going on here?

“I think there’s a clip of me and Randy (Orton) in there talking that’s on the internet. You see Seth (Rollins) going ham down there. I had no clue and that’s the fun thing about wrestling.

“You think you know it all sometimes, but man it’s cool to be surprised every now and then because we’re getting the same reaction as the fans at the same time.”

Punk is slated to compete in Saturday’s Royal Rumble match. This will mark his first televised WWE in-ring match since 2014.
