Cody Rhodes Reacts To Roman Reigns / Sami Zayn Segment From Royal Rumble WWE

Cody Rhodes punched his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania 39 on Saturday night, when he won the Royal Rumble match to earn a shot at the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Later in the show however, the big talked about angle between the Bloodline, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens took place, which saw Zayn hit Roman Reigns with a steel chair, before her and Owens were left laying by the Bloodline.

Cody was a guest on today’s episode of WWE The Bump, where he spoke about his Royal Rumble victory, as well as what went down at the end of the Royal Rumble show.

Cody said:

“Well there was a whole other side to it that people didn’t see where, they had a media briefing room getting ready to do the press conference and, I kid you not, probably more than ten active members of the roster who wanted to go to the aid of both Sami and Kevin, it was really overkill with the handcuffs and the situation with Kevin, and were not able to so, I hope they don’t feel like they don’t have friends in the locker room.

“Kevin Owens is a friend, he’s responsible for a lot of stuff that’s happened with me, and Sami and I have really started to develop a relationship recently more than ever so it’s a situation but, maybe, again we’ll find out more on SmackDown, but maybe it was worth it for Sami Zayn to hear 50,000 people validate a choice, a physical choice that you made and, clearly surprised Roman. But how it would surprise Roman, this is someone Sami’s known his whole career and they’ve been intertwined together, and I look forward to what takes place next.

“As much as you say I’m not connected to it, I’ve punched my ticket to the main event of WrestleMania, but I feel connected to it, because The Bloodline is something that’s fully, you look at all these factions from history your Horsemen, Dangerous Alliance, your DX, Evolution, Legacy, whatever, it does have a trickle down effect, it does effect all facets of what we do so, I do feel connected to it and I honestly wish I had been able to be there for Kevin, and I was not.”

Roman Reigns vs Sami Zayn is reportedly ‘as confirmed as can be’ for the Elimination Chamber event in Sami’s hometown of Montreal on February 18.

Cody is set to face the winner for the title at WrestleMania 39.
