Cody Rhodes ‘Knew He Deserved More’ Says Top WWE Star WWE

Charlotte Flair has reflected on the journey that took Cody Rhodes from WWE to AEW and back again, reflecting on his drive for success.

Cody Rhodes made his WWE debut in July 2007 and would remain with the company until being granted his release in May 2016.

From there, he undertook a successful tour of the independent wrestling circuit, including NJPW, IMPACT Wrestling and Ring of Honor before going on to form AEW after the success of Double or Nothing in 2018.

His time in AEW would come to an end in February 2022 due to “a personal issue” with his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38 in 2022.

Speaking ESPN after WrestleMania 40, Charlotte Flair discussed Rhodes’ journey, saying:

“I really think his story is just beginning. He’s exactly where he should be. The biggest takeaway is that Cody was here.

“He went away, he came back. Kind of like Paul Heyman’s speech at the Hall of Fame — People kept telling him, ‘No, no,’ or things kept failing. That never wavered his confidence.

“Cody is a testament to knowing your worth. That’s what we need to take away from [WrestleMania 40 on Sunday].

“He believed in himself and he knew that he deserved more. That’s why he walked out WrestleMania 40 as champion.”

Cody Rhodes may have finished his story with Roman Reigns, but on the WWE Raw after WrestleMania, The Rock has promised that there he will be coming back for Rhodes in the future.

The segment between Rhodes and The Rock from the April 8 episode of WWE Raw can be seen below this news story.

It was recently reported that the match between Rhodes and The Rock could take place at “next year’s WrestleMania“.

Charlotte Flair is currently sidelined with an ACL injury, although she was recently spotted at the WWE Performance Center.
