The planned date for the future singles match between The Rock and Cody Rhodes has potentially been revealed.
The Final Boss confronted the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion to kick off last night’s Raw after WrestleMania event, seemingly setting up a big time first encounter between the two.
The segment saw Rock take hold of Cody’s title, noting that it ‘felt right’, before telling Cody that their story together was just beginning, and handing Cody an item from his pocket.
The segment was an obvious tease setting up a future match between the two men, and we may now have a better idea of when that match may take place.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the match between Rock and Rhodes won’t be happening for a long time, with it likely being at ‘next year’s WrestleMania’.
The Rock is set to go away for a while following his appearances at WrestleMania, with him set to begin filming for his latest movie next month.
