Contract Detail That Allows Dragon Lee To Have Non-WWE Merchandise Revealed WWE

A contract detail that allows NXT North American Champion Dragon Lee to have a non-WWE merchandise has been revealed.

In early 2023, Dragon Lee signed with WWE and made his debut on the NXT brand ahead of WrestleMania 39 weekend. Since then, Lee has become one of the company’s fastest rising stars, winning the NXT North American Championship and getting called up to the SmackDown brand.

Last week, Masked Republic announced plans to launch a new merchandise and apparel line around their Cinelucha brand. One of the luchadors featured is Dragon Lee.

Per PWInsider, certain Masked Republic projects and merchandise items are approved within Dragon Lee’s WWE contract due to the company’s Lucha Libre Agency negotiating his deal initially.

This would include the Cinelucha licensed t-shirt and an upcoming children’s book, among other potential items as well.

The report notes that Masked Republic has been busy in regards to helping a number of international stars secure work visas so they can perform for WWE, AEW and other promotions.

Dragon Lee is set to defend the NXT North American Championship against Butch on tonight’s December 22 episode of SmackDown.

WrestleTalk will provide any news and notes from tonight’s WWE SmackDown when they become available.
