A current world champion has apologized for having to miss indie dates due to injury.
Alex Shelley was recently pulled from a couple of independent wrestling events after suffering an injury on the first night of IMPACT Wrestling’s UK Invasion tour last Thursday.
It was later revealed that Shelley was dealing with two-location calf strain following his tag team match on the show.
On Friday, November 3, Shelley took to social media to post an apology for having to cancel dates for Game Changer Wrestling and The Wrestling Revolver. He wrote:
“It’s not much – I let @IMPACTWRESTLING handle big things. I just wanted to apologize to @GCWrestling_ and @PWRevolver fans for being advertised and having to cancel,”
“I love both companies dearly and their fan bases, and if I could wrestle, I would.”
Alex Shelley made it clear that he was still able to train and was going to be okay despite suffering “two location calf strain in the gastroc muscle belly and the myotendinous junction.”
Shelley is set to defend the IMPACT World Title against Jonathan Gresham on the November 9 edition of IMPACT on AXS TV.
This bout was taped on IMPACT’s post-Bound For Glory 2023 taping in Chicago.
